Job Description:
St. Katharine of Siena School in Wayne, PA is looking for a dynamic, energetic and organized second grade teacher. Preferred candidates must have a strong Catholic identity as well as being a certified teacher, having a degree in elementary education and with experience working with children in primary education. Candidates should be personable, a team player and demonstrate a true love for working with young children with the ability to communicate to children, parents and colleagues.
General responsibilities would include:
- Promoting Catholic values and help lead children closer to God
- Being energetic, enthusiastic and engaging with a positive growth mindset
- Working with the other second grade class as a team
- Establishing and maintaining expected standards of student behavior using a positive classroom management approach
- Monitoring student learning, keeping them engaged, enthusiastic and on task
- Planning daily and long range lessons and activities
- Communicating regularly with parents about classroom activities, forming a partnership with each family and building trusted relationships
- Fulfilling any duties inside or outside the classroom as needed
- Performing any related work as required
